Reinterpreto canciones pop de amor haciendo playback. Los videos de Rockola están hechos en una sola toma. Soy yo, lo único que no es mío es la voz, pero hago como si lo fuera.
Si no hubiera playback y yo cantara, sería un cover y no habría ninguna diferencia entre Jane Birkin y yo. Las dos estaríamos interpretando/actuando una canción. Si Jane Birkin hiciera playback de sus voz grabada, sería un video musical. En Rockola yo no canto, y tampoco hago playback de mi voz grabada. Interpreto/actúo que hago playback de mi propia voz, pero lo hago con otra. Es un concepto de apropiación y desplazamiento: un simulacro.
El autor de las letras, el compositor musical, la intérprete vocal y yo nos unimos en un solo video. ¿Quién es entonces el autor original?

I reinterpret pop love songs by doing lip synchro. The Rockola music-videos are made in a single take. It is me, the only thing that it is not mine is the voice, but I do like it was.
If there was no lip synchronisation but singing, it would be a song cover and there would be no difference between Jane Birkin and me. We both would be interpreting/ performing a song. If Jane Birkin would do lip synchro of her recorded voice, it would be a music video. In Rockola I don’t sing, neither I do lip synchro of my recorded voice. I interpret/perform that I do lip synchro of my voice, but I do it with another. It is a concept of appropriation and displacement: a sham.
The lyrics author, the music composer, the vocal interpretar and I join in a single video. Who would then be the original author?
